Our cylinder pressure sensors, electronic indicators and combustion monitoring systems offer solutions for engine monitoring and diagnosis for the maritime market.

  • Continuous online cylinder pressure measurement for advanced engine monitoring and diagnosis, and as an input for closed-loop control systems on gas, diesel- and dual-fuel- engines
  • Periodic cylinder pressure monitoring by engine operators on propulsion engines, generator sets and compressor sets in ships, power plants and compressor stations
  • On-site cylinder pressure measurement for research, development, trouble- shooting and periodic cylinder balancing on large engines

All our sensors offer a digital electronic with event storing. They are designed for a minimum of 16,000 operating hours and they have a very good thermodynamic performance. Our products received Marine Type Approval from all significant international classification societies such as Bureau Veritas, DNV, ABS, Lloyd’s Register, Korean Register and Class NK.


The engine analyser EPM-XPplus-vibro is designed for additional vibration measurements on engines. The vibration sensor will be electrically connected on one side to the hand-held device via a cable and on the other side via a magnetic holder to the injector or pump. This offers advanced diagnostic options for marine engines. The vibration sensor records the point of lifting and landing of the injector needle as well as the beginning and ending of the fuel supply by the injection pump.

CCM Combustion Control System

The Combustion controlled systems CCM is designed for pressure control in closed loop systems. It includes a high speed data acquisition unit (CCM) for up to 12 cylinders, permanently installed cylinder pressure sensors and an advanced visualisation- and performance software.
The data can be transmitted for evaluation directly via LAN / Ethernet to a PC where the CCM software is installed. The software allows an easy collection, management and comparison of engine performance data.

EPM-XP Next Generation
The new generation of the successful electronic handheld device type EPM is a unique further development that offers one common hardware for all EPM types: EPM-Peak, EPM-XP, EPM-XPplus and EPM-XPplus-vibro. This enables a simple upgrade from peak pressure indicator EPM-Peak up to engine analyser EPM-XPplus-vibro. The user can download a higher version from the Internet and it is not necessary to send the device back to IMES.
The measurements the user can perform are depending on the EPM type he is using.
