VEGAPULS 6X is a universal sensor for continuous level measurement of liquids and bulk solids under all process conditions. Due to its application-oriented configuration and setup, VEGAPULS 6X offers a reliable and economical solution for all level applications. Due to its variable antenna systems, it ensures maintenance-free operation in all applications.

VEGAFLEX 86 Guided wave radar

The GWR sensors of the VEGAFLEX series are suitable for level measurement in liquids and bulk solids. In liquids, they can also detect the interface between two media. VEGAFLEX 86 can be used for virtually all liquids under extreme pressure and temperature conditions, as well as applications with buildup, foam generation or condensation.

VEGA instruments are steeled against all extremes
Difficult ambient conditions and special challenges await the measuring instruments from VEGA. The requirements for use in widely different areas: high-quality materials and reliable measurement data. VEGA offers outstanding quality that can stand up to any test. VEGASWING 66 vibrating level switch is one of typical application in shipbuilding industry. It is world first and one of a kind vibrating level switch for process conditions from temperature -196℃ to +450℃ and pressure from -1 to +160 bar. Usually used for point level detection of liquified gas that transported in insulated cargo tanks on LNG carriers at temperature between -20℃ and -196℃. The key element of VEGASWING 66 is high-tech material of the tuning fork. Inconel Alloy 718 is extremely resistant to temperature and corrosion. This material is used, among other things, on liquid fuelled rockets and aircraft engines. It is also well proven in sour gas applications (NACE). At the heart of the sensor is the patented induction drive. It ensures a reliable and harmonic oscillation frequency over the entire application range. CERTEC®-Maximum cleanliness in measuring cell production
Two types of measuring cells are produced at VEGA under the extreme clean conditions of "clean room class 100": the ceramic-capacitive CERTEC® measuring cell and the metallic METEC® measuring cell. The sensitive measuring cells, based on thick-film technology, are printed and fired in a completely dust-free atmosphere. The special feature of the CERTEC® ceramic measuring cell: it works without any transmission fluid. This cell is dry and self-monitoring and thus automatically registers damage to the diaphragm, or any process liquid seeping into the sensor. The ultrahigh quality of the Sapphire-ceramic® diaphragm guarantees reliability in applications with abrasive media and constant high temperatures of up to 150℃, as well as optimal cleaning and hygiene. CERTEC® measuring cells are extremely precise and yet well protected against overload. Their high mechanical strength and stability lends them outstanding stability over a long period of time. There are two commonly used hydrostatic pressure transmitters in shipbuilding industry: VEGABAR 82 and VEGAWELL 52, they are all equipped with CERTEC® measuring cell, ideal for cargo tanks, LNG/LPG carriers, manifold, service tank for drinking water, ship position and draught, anti-heeling system, heavy lifter and ballast water tanks. CERTEC® measuring cell offers excellent chemical resistance even in aggressive media, can withstand pressure shocks in rough seas, has high resistance to corrosive seawater, easy to maintain, thus the instruments guarantee a reliable measurement and long service life. VEGA delivers precise measurement for LNG carriers
VEGA offers one major application in the shipbuilding industry is for LNG carriers. Liquified gas is transported in insulated cargo tanks on LNG carriers at temperature between -20℃ and -196℃. The instrumentation used must be specially designed for these extreme temperatures. Pressure, level and point level of LNG in the cargo tanks must be reliably measured for the transport. In which, VEGAPULS series radar sensors, VEGABAR series hydrostatic pressure transmitters, VEGASWING series vibrating level switches and VEGAFLEX series guided wave radar sensors are all designed for such applications. Considering the extreme conditions of tested media itself and the external environment fluctuation of the processing, VEGA measuring instruments are equipped with robust, oil and seawater-resistant housings and sensor technology. VEGA instruments deliver reliable measurement event at very low temperatures down -200℃, and despite low relative permittivity of the liquified gas the instruments still running precisely, and none affected by adhesive buildup. Since they are tested and certified according to the leading international classification societies, VEGA measuring instruments can be used worldwide, at on-shore as well as offshore facilities and on FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) ships.
