About us

SDC Ship Design & Consult GmbH is a consultant company for the shipping world. It offers a powerful combination of experienced personnel and backing of its network companies supported by modern hard- and software. SDC is serving the shipping world with a wide range of advanced consultancy services from conceptual design to operation assistance to ship owners, ship operators, authorities and shipyards. SDC was established in 1997 by Hamburg Shipmodel Basin (HSVA), Germanischer Lloyd (GL) and Dr. Harald Jensen. Nowadays SDC is jointly owned by HSVA and Dr. Jensen. A small but competent team of Naval Architects making use of a proven network of maritime specialists provides flexible, quick reacting and non-bureaucratic services for any kind of shipbuilding and conversion projects, as well as during ship operation. Because purpose made ships are the best answer to rough economical waters, ambitious owners are warmly welcome at SDC Ship Design & Consult GmbH.
